Ableton launches new Loop Sessions series with Grand River
The free online event will take place this Saturday (21st May)
Ableton will launch its new Loop Sessions series this weekend with electronic music composer Grand River.
Loop Session is a new series of online events geared toward music makers, with each session delivering an insight into the working practices of a specific artist. This Saturday, 21st May, Dutch-Italian composer, poly-instrumentalist and producer Grand River will host the first free session, offering an online walkthrough of her studio, followed by a behind-the-scenes look at her electro-acoustic compositional process – from finding inspiration and making creative decisions to selecting instruments to recording.
The Berlin-based artist will also join Ableton’s Dennis DeSantis for a 90-minute studio session at the city’s Bewake Studios, during which she will compose a piece of music. After the session attendees can join the group chat and live Q&A in the Loop Café, a virtual hang out space for further discussion.
The Loop Session is free and does not require registration. It will take place at 5pm BST (6pm CET) on 21st May. Set a reminder via the Ableton Loop site.
