Aluna locks Jayda G, Kevin Saunderson, UNiiQU3, more for new festival celebrating Black artists
The first edition of the New Orleans event is scheduled for May
Aluna Francis, one-half of AlunaGeorge, is curating her own festival in New Orleans next year.
The debut edition of Noir Fever will feature an all-Black line-up, and run at various venues across the city. Alongside Aluna, the line-up currently includes the likes of Kevin Saunderson, UNiiQU3, Jayda G, Derrick Carter, TSHA, TYGAPAW, Kaytranada and Channel Tres.
"I've talked a lot about the future of dance music I want to see, so instead of waiting I created it," Francis said, announcing the festival on Twitter. "Since most mainstream dance festivals have decided to remain boringly un-inclusive, I've decided to book an all-Black lineup to make my dreams come true.
"By honouring dance music's heritage and getting a taste of the future, I want to reignite a much-needed connection back to what dance music is all about – creating a space where people from different communities come together, dance their hearts out and feel free to be themselves.
Noir Fever will run from 27th-30th May. Find out more about the festival here.
