Björk shares Shygirl and Sega Bodega remix of ‘Ovule’: Listen

ShyGirl and Sega Bodega have remixed Björk’s ‘Ovule’, the second track from her newest album, ‘Fossora’.  Check it out below.

“It has been so nourishing sharing music with shy and sega,” Björk wrote in an Instagram post about the remix. “Soooo honoured to be in their hands!! and in this remix admiring sega exploring chill-bassdrum-gabba and a thrill seeing shy diving into my lyrics and taking it to a new place… ( i hope to repay the favour soon )... and seeing them perform it live in London was humbling....grrrrratitudes!!”

Speaking on the release, Sega Bodega described it as a “a full circle moment... for me at least. The three of us had an evening of all listening to music we loved at Shy's place last year and after absorbing that the remix came together pretty quickly – we like things fast."

‘Fossora’ was first announced last September with a trippy music video directed by Nick Knight and Björk herself, and was released later that month. It was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Alternative Music Album category – up against the likes of Big Thief and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Last month the Icelandic artist shared a new music video for ‘Sorrowful Soil’ depicting her singing a eulogy to her late mother close to the recently erupted Fagradalsfjall volcano.

Earlier last year,  Björk and Greta Thunberg discussed climate change, protesting, greenwashing, politicians, and fame, in a podcast produced by the New Statesman. You can listen to the full discussion here.
