Burning Man to host virtual conference on environmental sustainability this week
The festival will share a ‘Year One Report’ Ecosystem Activation Community Call with Burning Man staff & community members
Burning Man will host a virtual conference on environmental sustainability this Friday (17th).
Burning Man Project, the wider non-profit behind the annual festival, launched a new live virtual events platform, Kindling, earlier this year. After sharing the trailer for an upcoming Burning Man documentary earlier this month, Burning Man have revealed the next event for Kindling: Ecosystem Activation: Year One Report - Sustainability Roadmap.
The virtual event will feature Burning Man staff and community members discussing Burning Man's 2030 Environmental Sustainability Roadmap. Anyone can join the virtual via Kindling, which centre's around the Burning Man Project "beginning an open-source approach to become carbon negative, sustainably manage waste, and be ecologically regenerative by 2030".
The event takes place this Friday, July 17th, from 12PM to 3PM PDT (3PM to 6PM ET), and you can join the discussion via Kindling.
After weeks of deliberation and uncertainty, which culminated in the postponement of the Burning Man annual gathering’s main ticket sale earlier this month, the announcement was made on 10th April that Burning Man 2020 would not be going ahead due to ongoing concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic.
