Daft Punk to premiere unreleased track with Julian Casablancas this week at Paris’ Centre Pompidou
'Infinity Repeating' is featured on Daft Punk's expanded 10th anniversary reissue of ‘Random Access Memories’
Daft Punk are set to premiere an unreleased track, 'Infinity Repeating,' with the Strokes' Julian Casablancas this week at Paris’ Centre Pompidou. The track is featured on Daft Punk's expanded 10th anniversary reissue of ‘Random Access Memories’, which is released on Friday (12th May) and features 35 minutes of previously unreleased music.
The announcement was shared on Daft Punk's Instagram and Centre Pomidou's Instagram yesterday (9th May). The free event will take place tomorrow at 6.30pm CET and comprise "three experiences," including "an ultra-high fidelity listening experiences" played through 30 speakers, according to the Centre Pompidou's website.
There will also be a “cinematic experience” and “collective experience” to premiere the video on a giant screen in the Centre Pompidou Forum.
Daft Punk teased news of the track premiere earlier this week on Spotify with a series of coordinates, including those relating to Paris. Seven more of the 2013 album's 15 tracks also include a visualiser featuring the coordinates and the words "May 11th, 10 AM". London, Sydney, Tokyo, Mexico City, Santa Monica, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and New York have all been mentioned.
In March, Daft Punk shared the first unreleased track from the forthcoming special edition version of 'Random Access Memories', a "documentary track" featuring Todd Edwards titled 'The Writing of Fragments of Time'.
'Random Access Memories' was named the best-selling dance music vinyl album of the 2010s.
