Everything But the Girl share new track, ‘No One Knows We’re Dancing’: Listen
The downtempo cut is the fourth single off their first album in 24 years, ‘Fuse’, which lands later this week (21st April)
Everything But The Girl have shared ‘No One Knows We’re Dancing’, the latest single from their forthcoming album ‘Fuse’. You can watch the lyric video for the new track below.
The duo, comprising Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, release their first album since 1999's ‘Temperamental’ this Friday 21st April on Buzzin’ Fly records via Virgin Music Group.
‘No One Knows We’re Dancing’ follows ‘Run A Red Light’, ‘Caution To The Wind’ and ‘Nothing Left To Lose’.
Speaking about the new single, Thorn said: “I think we all missed the communality of nightlife and going out during the pandemic. The song is a eulogy to the heyday of packed Sunday clubs – the faces, the secret life, the clubs where Ben DJ’d in the early 2000s.”
“The tempo is deliberately dreamlike,” Watt added. “Slowed-down disco, like a memory. We asked producer-DJ Ewan Pearson to add some body to the groove and he sprinkles some delicious extra synth lines and thickens the Italo-flavoured drums.”
Everything But The Girl formed in in 1982. They had top 10 UK chart success with their hit ‘Missing’ in 1995, which was remixed into a dance classic by Todd Terry. The duo were also nominated for MTV, EMA and Ivor Novello Awards.
The pair initially confirmed their reunion in November last year.
