Four Tet has announced that his label, Text Records, is issuing a new album from Fred Again.. and Brian Eno this Friday (5th May).  The producer called the LP, which is titled ‘Secret Life’ and debuted on NTS Radio last night (3rd May), “the most beautiful album of 2023”.

Fred Again.. and Eno are long-time friends and collaborators, referring to each other fondly as “mentors” in an interview with Zane Lowe last year. “I’ve learned a lot from him [Fred],” Eno shared, “it’s a two way relationship.” The release follows solo albums from both artists last year, ‘Actual Life 3 (January 1 — September 9 2022)’ and ‘ForeverAndEverNoMore’, respectively.

Four Tet, who’s playing three shows in Los Angeles this week, has noted that the album will get physical releases on vinyl and CD. To promote the release, a companion online radio station, secretlife.fm has also been broadcasting daily starting at 10pm.

Fred again.. was recently drafted in to replace Frank Ocean alongside Skrillex and Four Tet as the closing act at the second weekend of Coachella festival. The trio performed on the festival's main stage on Sunday 23rd April, after Ocean was forced to cancel his headline performance on doctor's orders after he sustained two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.
