History of European Free Party Movement explored in the new documentary, F[R]EE
Alessandro Ugo's in-depth documentary is screened throughout the UK this month
The history of the European Free Party Movement is explored in a new documentary.
Produced by Doc'n Roll, F[R]EE – Behind The Scenes of the Free Party Movement is an in-depth documentary on the European free party techno counter-culture throughout the 1990s.
Directed by Alessandro Ugo - who will be donating his profits to musicians and sound systems - the 79-minute documentary features artists and producers including Spiral Tribe's 69db, Mat Weasel Busters, Chris and Aaron Liberator, photographer Molly Macindoe, Shockraver, Randy909, Narkotek crew, Astrix, and more.
The team behind the film said, "from Desert Storm and Spiral Tribe, to tabloid panic and the £200+ entrance fees of the modern day festival circuit, F[R]EE celebrates the global vibrancy and breadth of this counter-culture with international contributors from free parties and clubs across Europe and the UK, including Balter and Boomtown festivals."
From 9th June, 'F[R]EE' will be screened in various cities across the UK, including London on 9th and Bristol on 11th June. With more dates to be announced, check out the current schedule below and book here.
