Jessy Lanza shares new single and video, ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’
The Los Angeles-based artist will also embark on a US tour next month with Yaeji
Jessy Lanza has shared a new single and video, 'Don't Leave Me Now', which is out now on Hyperdub. Take a listen and watch the accompanying clip below.
The LA-based artist wrote the song following a near-miss that saw her almost hit by a car shortly after moving to the Californian city. This triggered an agoraphobic event, a condition that has factored in her life from an early age.
The lyrics of this latest release directly respond to both the condition and the incident. Alongside the track itself, a video has been made by Winston H. Case. The clip explores themes of confidence and the idea of dressing for the part. Shot in Los Angeles, it also features Lanza's sister and touring band member, Angie.
In addition to the tune, Lanza has also announced that she will head out on the road for a US tour with Brooklyn, New York singer, DJ and producer Yaeji. The pair will hit cities including Seattle, Oakland, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Washington this spring. Dates are listed below the video, and begin in Portland, Oregon, on 7th April.
