Kerri Chandler announces four-week residency at London’s KOKO Electronic
The US house veteran invites Moodymann, Jeremy Underground, Antal, Dam Swindle and more to highlight his Kaoz Theory label at the storied Camden club next February
Kerri Chandler is hosting a four-week residency at London venue KOKO next year.
The US house veteran is bringing his Kaoz Theory label to the storied Camden venue, which reopened in April after a three-year closure, on Saturday nights in February 2023. The first party, on 4th February, will have guests Jeremy Underground and Ceri join headliner Chandler.
To close the KOKO Electronic series on 25 February, Chandler invites Moodymann and Hélena Star to play alongside him. Between those events, line-ups feature Dam Swindle, Antal, DJ Deep, Lea Lisa and Melle Brown.
“I always like to try to do things a little different and bring a new angle to my shows," Chandler said. "No week will be the same! Kaoz Theory is my personal take on music and the people I’m closest with. A creative outlet of any combination of house that I would like to explore and share with my musical family, also adding a different way of creating environments."
In October, Kerri Chandler released his first album since 2008 called 'Spaces And Places' on Kaoz Theory, which he launched in 2015 after starting up Madhouse Records in 1992. Bruce Tantum spoke to the house stalwart about about how he recorded the album by transforming clubs into studios while touring — revisit the in-depth interview here.
After shutting down in March 2019 to begin renovations that were expected to take one year, KOKO remained closed until April 2022 after a devastating fire and the coronavirius pandemic threw plans off course. Since reopening, the venue's dedicated electronic-focused programme, KOKO Electronic, has hosted the likes of Jayda G, Omar S, DJ Paulette, Todd Terje, Conducta and 2ManyDJs.
