Laurent Garnier cancels summer shows due to health concerns
The French DJ won't play festivals including Sónar, Karussel and Nuits Sonores
Laurent Garnier has cancelled all his shows “until the end of summer”, citing health reasons.
The French DJ and producer will now no longer perform at festivals including Sónar in Barcelona, Karussel in Copenhagen, and Nuits Sonores in Lyon.
He wrote in an post shared via his Instagram over the weekend: "Some things are easier to announce than others. Since I don't have much choice, I'd rather just throw it out there without too much fuss! Unfortunately for health reasons I have to cancel all my dates until the end of the summer."
Garnier, who is releasing his first album since 2015, ‘33 Tours Et Puis S'en Vont’, on 25th May added: "Of course, fate would have it that my album will soon be released at a time when I won't be able to share it with you on the dancefloor, but I can assure you that once this is all over, I'll be back... in force!”
In his album announcement last month the 57-year-old also said that he'll be stepping back from touring at the end of 2024 to avoid becoming “a dusty, old jukebox”.
