The Ivors have revealed the 2023 nominees, which include Little Simz, Stormzy, Central Cee and Kate Bush.

The British and Irish songwriting honour has shortlisted 72 writers and composers who have the chance to win the Ivor Novello statuette next month. Little Simz's 'No Thank You' and SAULT's '11' are among those up for the Best Album award, and both feature Dean “Inflo” Josiah Cover and Cleopatra Nikolic as writers. SAULT's also been highlighted in the Best Song Musically And Lyrically category for 'Stronger', giving Cover and Nikolic their third nomination, placing them amongst the most nominated writers this year alongside Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon.

Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill', which saw an unprecedented resurgence after memorable use in the fourth season of 'Stranger Things', is nominated in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category. Central Cee and Young Chencs, who charted in the UK Top 75 11 times in 2022, are in the running for the Songwriter of the Year title. Matthew Herbert also received a nod for The Responder TV soundtrack.

The battle for Best Contemporary Song will be among Wesley Joseph and Leon Vynehall for Joseph's 'Cold Summer'; 070 Shake, RAYE and Mike Sabath for the first two names' collaboration 'Escapism'; Owen Cutts, P2J, PRGRSHN and Stormzy for the Tottenham MC's 'Hide & Seek'; and two entries featuring Knucks, his 'Leon The Professional' track written with Venna and Toshifumi Hinata and Kojey Radical's 'Nominee' with Swindle.

The awards ceremony takes place on 18th May at Grosvenor House in London. See the complete list of 2023 nominees on The Ivors' website.
