Ministry Of Sound’s new club concept, Sovereign, with Sasha event

Ministry of Sound is launching a new event concept, Sovereign, which begins with an appearance by Sasha on Saturday 12th November.

According to the London club, each date will honour dance music artists perceived to have made significant contributions to the culture and sound, from UKG and jungle to house and tech.

"Our newest night and the most important club concept to hit Ministry of Sound in a generation," the venue wrote in an Instagram post, explaining its longstanding connection to Sasha, including a date on the 2016 tour that saw him reunite with DJ partner John Digweed, and the release of seminal mix album 'Northern Exposure' in 1996.

“As the headliner of our debut Sovereign event, we will present a night dedicated to celebrating his outstanding contribution to dance music and present him with the very first Sovereign ring. The King returns to the Castle."

Subsequent line-ups for the series are yet to be announced. This summer, Sasha was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bangor University in tribute to his background growing up in the Welsh town. Last month, DJ Mag was invited to go behind the scenes at Ministry of Sound with one of Brazil's biggest electronic success stories, ALOK
