Murlo releases new album, ‘Puckle’, via Coil Records: Listen

Murlo has released his new album, ‘Puckle’, via Coil Records. You can listen to it below.
The LP "revolves loosely around the theme of autonomy in an era of advanced technology", according to the press release, and is accompanied by a limited run of 3D miniatures, designed by Murlo. A printed visual compendium also allows listeners to get to grips with the "immersive lore "of the album.
“Combining my visual work with music has always been a way to add another layer to what I'm writing, a way to engage the audience in a more immersive way," the Manchester-based artist said. "The music is more than just an accompaniment to the narrative — it’s a character in its own right."
Murlo has spent the past two years developing the album visually and sonically. "It’s never easy drawing a line under a project and saying, ‘Yes this is done’, there’s always more and more I want to add but I’m proud to finally give this up," he added.
The album's first single, ‘Carapace’, was shared earlier this year, marking the first music from Murlo since 2021’s three-track ‘Unearth’ EP. Check out 'Puckle' via Bandcamp below.
'Puckle' is the follow-up to Murlo's 2019 album 'Dolos', which was later reimagined with the help of a selection of his favourite artists.
