New book, A Quick Ting On: Grime, documents the history and evolution of the genre
Authored by journalist, rapper and youth activist Franklyn Addo, the new book is the latest offering by London-based publisher Jacaranda Books
A new book chronicling the history, influence and trajectory of UK grime is coming this September.
Jacaranda Books' A Quick Ting On series will next pick up the story of grime music in the UK, written by journalist, rapper and activist Franklyn Addo (pictured). Out 21st September via the London-based publisher, distributed by Hachette, Grime charts the genre's development, expansion and cultural impact.
In addition to his journalism work for the likes of the Guardian, the Independent, Sky News and more, Hackney's Addo has done extensive advocacy and outreach for UK youth, sharing his expertise in court, academia and media about youth violence, trauma, the criminalisation of and lack of support for young people in Britain. He releases music under the mononymous moniker Franklyn.
The A Quick Ting On series has previously covered Afrobeats, Black British Power, The Black Girl Afro and more.
