New York’s Razor-N-Tape label is opening a record store in Brooklyn
"This store will be a hub for all our artists, fans, collaborators and partners around the world"
New York record label Razor-N-Tape is set to open a new record store.
To mark its 10th anniversary, the prolific dance imprint will branch out with a new flagship shop in Greenpoint, in their home borough of Brooklyn. Opening its doors on 21st October, the store will be open to the public each week from Friday to Sunday, the store will feature the complete Razor-N-Tape (RNT) catalogue, as well as a curated selection of new and used records from international and local labels.
Designed by Elsa Arsenault, the record store will also sell apparel and DJ accessories and feature a boutique DJ booth in the storefront window that will host guest DJs for in-store and live-streamed sets.
Having progressed from their early days of white label edit releases to their current roster of local and international talent, the RNT store will also boast custom millwork furniture, a bespoke hi-fi sound system, and an oversized aluminium Bill Bernstein photo print, donated by the photographer.
As well as hosting a launch party at Good Room in Brooklyn on Friday, 7th October, RNT is currently hosting a GoFundMe campaign featuring exclusive merchandise, vinyl bundles, unreleased digital samplers, podcast USBs and in-store savings in order raise money to fund the custom buildout & operations of the new space. In a statement, organisers said: "This store will be a hub for all our artists, fans, collaborators and partners around the world. We’ve started this GoFundMe page so everyone who wants to support the project can contribute in a foundational way.”
