PinkPantheress and Destroy Lonely link up on new single, ‘Turn Your Phone Off’
The track follows the viral ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt.2’, featuring Ice Spice
PinkPantheress has teamed up with Destroy Lonely for a new single, ‘Turn Your Phone Off’, out via Warner Records. Check it out below.
The release marks the singer and producer’s third offering of 2023 and follows her viral February single, ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt.2’, featuring Ice Spice. ‘Turn Your Phone Off’ continues PinkPantheress’ collaborative streak as she joins forces with American rapper Destroy Lonely, who lends his flow over the track’s drum & bass beat. The single was also co-written and co-produced by Next Door Records’ Alfie Auckett.
Taking to Twitter to announce the song, PinkPantheress shared: “This song has been on my mind since I leaked it in 2021 – I was just waiting until the perfect opportunity to drop it. I’m privileged to share this track with lone, love his artistry, love a random collab.”
In a press release, she added: “After years of having this song in the vault, I’m so happy I can release ‘Turn Your Phone Off’ with someone who has spearheaded his own sound and incorporates beautifully into mine.”
PinkPantheress dropped the original version of ‘Boy’s a liar’, created alongside Mura Masa, in November, shortly before her ‘To Hell With It (Remixes)’ was named ‘Best Compilation’ at DJ Mag’s Best of British awards 2022. In January, she was a guest vocalist on Skrillex’s single, ‘Way Back’, alongside Trippie Redd.
