Pioneer DJ announces new 4-channel mixer, DJM-A9
Promising "crystal-clear, high-resolution sound" and an array of new features
Pioneer DJ, after teasing a new piece of hardware earlier this month, has officially announced a new 4-channel mixer, the DJM-A9.
The new unit boasts an array of features, including a Center Lock feature for Sound Color FX and a new layout that includes increased spacing around the EQ knobs. The channel selector is now a dedicated button, while the channel input section is equipped with an ESS Technology 32-bit high-quality A/D converter for "crystal-clear, high-resolution sound" that "takes the audio quality from the DJM-900NXS2 to another level".
The Beat FX section and mic have also been "significantly enhanced", while there's a Bluetooth input which you can route to any channel. Both Rekordbox and Serato are supported.
A cryptic photo had been posted to the brand's Instagram last Tuesday (21st February) with the text: "Out of this world, landing soon. 28.02.23". Meanwhile, rumours had been flying around on Reddit that Pioneer were allegedly working on a new mixer called the DJM-900Plus or the DJM-A9. One user wrote a post titled "DJM-A9. The next generation of DJM?" (Pioneer's professional line of DJ mixers).
The DJM-A9 mixer is priced at $2,699/€2,799/£2,456 and is expected to ship in early March. Find out more from the Pioneer DJ site here and watch a demo video below.
In November 2021, Pioneer DJ announced a new two-channel all-in-one DJ unit called the XDJ-RX3.
