Point Blank Music School has launched new online DJ courses, including a beginner and advanced program.

The 10-week courses are designed to provide comprehensive training for aspiring DJs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills that professionals use in the industry.

The Essential DJ Skills course, the first of the new programs, will offer a solid foundation for beginners and cover a broad spectrum of DJ techniques and theory. Students will be introduced to Pioneer's Rekordbox software, including managing beat grids and exporting playlists, as well as being taught the fundamentals behind creating a solid mix and performing an engaging DJ set.

The Creative DJ Skills course is a more advanced program that incorporates harmonic and acapella mixing, scratching techniques, and the art of audio effects. The course will also equip students with vital skills beyond the DJ booth, such as recording, compiling, and editing DJ mixes, creating bespoke idents/DJ drops, and building a unique sonic identity.

In addition, Point Blank Music School offers the more comprehensive ‘DJ Skills in Depth’ course, which combines the Essential and Creative DJ Skills curriculums to “take students on a journey from the foundational aspects of DJing to the most innovative and creative techniques.”

Alumni of Point Blank programs include Aluna Francis — who released her debut solo album, ‘MYCELiUM’, last week — along with French DJ, Klingande and Patrick Topping, voted Best DJ at DJ Mag’s Best of British awards 2022.

Last summer, Point Blank Music School and DJ Mag teamed up to share an exclusive masterclass tutorial from Jersey club royalty, UNIIQU3.
