Porter Robinson on Grammy nomination: ‘I felt like I won the moment it got nominated”
His track 'Ghost Voices' as project Virtual Self is nominated for Best Dance Recording...
Porter Robinson has been nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2019 Grammy Awards, with track 'Ghost Voices' produced under his trance and hardstyle-focussed Virtual Self pseudonym.
'Ghost Voices' left a mark when 'Virtual Self' dropped in 2017, with Calvin Harris one of its leading champions, tweeting out his support for it; a respect and source of inspiration which turned out to be mutual. Robinson went on to feature as our North American cover star early in 2018.
The nomination obviously meant a lot to Robinson, who commented to Billboard: "I felt like I won the moment I got nominated. That is a complete victory for the project in my mind." He added, "I was ecstatic to be honest, I basically found out from Twitter. I didn't even know I'd been submitted."
