Premiere: Lila Tirando a Violeta ‘Wet Season (Lo Que Queres) feat. Lighght’
Uruguayan producer Lila Tirando a Violeta readies her ‘Sentient’ LP. Hear her fierce and percussive collab with Lighght now…
Uruguay’s Lila Tirando a Violeta will release her new album ‘Sentient’ via Canadian label New Motions this Sunday 17th February.
The experimental producer – real name Camila Dominguez – has previously released on labels like Dream Catalogue, Collapsed Structures, and Aescape Sounds, as well as having mixes featured on stations including NTS.
Known for her penchant for warped electronics, R&B motifs an absorbing altered vocals, Dominguez’s style tends to veer from style to style on each release, with an experimental edge being the thread that ties them all together. ‘Sentient’ finds her on top form, both on the solo cuts and in her collaborations with friends from across the global experimental circuit.
‘Wet Season (Lo Que Queres)’, which you can hear below, is a collaboration with Irish producer Lighght, who also mastered the album. A swerving, hard drum excursion with eerily subdued vocals and a meandering bass groove, it’s one of the versatile album’s most club-focussed cuts. It’s big.
You’ll be able to get the album digitally or on cassette from New Motions’ Bandcamp.
