The Prodigy confirmed for Boomtown 2023 Sunday guest set

Boomtown has confirmed that The Prodigy will be this year’s Sunday closing set.

The festival, which will take place near Winchester from the 9th to 13th of August, dropped the news yesterday on social media, hinting that the group being booked was part of a “decade-long pursuit” due to “unprecedented demand” from fans. The Prodigy's closing set will celebrate the festival’s 15th edition on the  “Grand Central Stage” on Sunday.

The news marks the group’s first return to Winchester since playing Vision Rave Festival at Popham Airfield. You can watch an interview done at the rave here

Speaking on the announcement, Boomtown co-founder, Luke Mitchell said: “The Prodigy’s energy, immense production value, and influence in the rave scene make them the perfect match for Boomtown, and I’m over the moon that we’ve been able to finally get this nailed down and can now share the exciting news. The Prodigy are the most Boomtown band on the planet.”

Boomtown teased the announcement on social media for weeks, but only dropped the news officially yesterday. The rest of the line-up will remain a surprise until the day of the festival.

The Prodigy announced a slew of live tour dates across the UK earlier this month: kicking off in Glasgow on 16th November 2023 before playing in Manchester, Leeds, Brighton, Cardiff, and Birmingham ahead of Alexandra Palace in London on 24th November.

The group is also set to play Serbia’s EXIT festival next week alongside Eric Prydz, Skrillex, and more.
