Rinse FM co-founder DJ Slimzee steps down from longstanding show residency
"I feel time to continue my journey with my shows elsewhere," he said
Rinse FM co-founder DJ Slimzee has stepped down from his longstanding residency.
On Monday, 24th May, the DJ and radio host, aka Dean Fullman, announced that he was stepping down from his regular show on the influential London radio station after more than 20 years on the air.
Posting on Instagram, he said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to withdraw from my Rinse FM residency. It's been a great journey for me and something that has been a part of my life for 20 plus years but I feel time to continue my journey with my shows elsewhere." Read the full statement below.
Fullman was part of the team that co-founded Rinse FM back in 1994 and played a vital role in the station bringing genres like UK garage, grime, and dubstep to the mainstream. The news comes three months after the pioneering London-based community station revealed that it had acquired legendary London radio station Kool FM, which returned last week.
In February, Rinse announced 140 new residents for spring/summer 2023.
