Shangri-La announces Conducta, Nia Archives, Folamour, Eliza Rose, more for Glastonbury 2023
The stacked line-up comes alongside announcements from fellow stages, Woodsies and Arcadia
In the countdown to Glastonbury Festival 2023 – which will take place from the 21st to the 25th June – the Shangri-La area has revealed its full line-up, including the likes of Conducta, Nia Archives, Folamour, Flava D, Eliza Rose, Prospa and many more.
The announcement was shared alongside the 2023 theme of ‘Everything Must Go’, and features a complete breakdown of the artists playing across the area’s five stages.
Over on the Nowhere stage – a high-tech panoramic platform replacing the Gas Tower stage for this year’s festival – the likes of Ahadadream, Bou, Chunky, Effy and Ivy Lab are set to make appearances. Meanwhile, Platform 23, a new area celebrating genre-spanning underground culture, will return for a second year to host takeover sets from Amaliah b2b Aletha, SUCHI b2b Parris, Nikki Nair b2b DJ ADHD, and more.
Beloved parties including Sista Selecta and Misscoteque will also hold takeovers of the area’s feminist venue, the Sistxrhood, which is open exclusively to female, intersex, non-binary, and trans people. Maintaining the energy, PXSSY PALACE will host a takeover on the Nomad stage.
Earache Records will also be returning to host The Truth stage, with an eclectic assortment of sets from the likes of ho99o9, Ezra Collective, and Gentlemen’s Dub Club.
Shangri-La made its debut at Glastonbury Festival in 2008 and has since become a vital component of Glasto’s late-night area, commonly known as the ‘Naughty Corner’. Last year, a short film titled ‘We The People’ was commissioned in celebration of Shangri-La’s ongoing dedication to community, collaboration, and activism across the festival long-weekend and beyond.
The news comes hot on the heels of last week’s announcement from the newly coined Woodsies stage, fka the John Peel Stage, which promises “the same raucous, effervescent and gloriously sweaty vibes it did when it was known as the John Peel.” Alongside previously announced Friday headliners Hot Chip and sets from Bru-C and Digga D, Phoenix will close out Woodsies’ Sunday stage with a show likely featuring their new collaboration with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter.
The line-up for this year’s Arcadia area also dropped this week, after Glastonbury officials confirmed in a statement that “The Arcadia Spider returns with an explosive line-up for Glastonbury 2023!”. Among the heavy-hitters are Floating Points, Daphni, VTSS, Skream, Chloé Robinson, Plastician, and The Chemical Brothers – who will be returning to perform live on the Friday night (23rd June) after being forced to cancel their scheduled set at Glastonbury 2022 due to band member Tom Rowlands contracting Covid at the time.
