Alan Braxe has released a new music video and single, ‘Never Coming Back’ featuring Norwegian pop artist Annie. Check it out below
Alongside the release, the French house producer also shared a newly-remastered version of ‘You’ll Stay In My Heart’, which was previously only available on CD compilations and through unofficial mixes.
Both tracks are set to appear as bonus tracks on the upcoming reissue of Alen Braxe’s 2005 compilation album ‘The Upper Cuts’, set to be released 31st March via Smugglers Ways.
The release of ‘Never Coming Back’ was accompanied by an animated music video produced by Sophie Koko.
Speaking on the release, Alan Braxe said: “I first met Annie virtually, just listening to her vocals as I was remixing her song ‘Heartbeat’ in 2005. I could hear in her voice both softness and strength and I found it very touching. Last year I sent her an instrumental demo and when she then told me that she was up for it, we recorded the vocals in Bergen, Norway and chose the theme of escaping a problematic relationship and regaining freedom.”
Annie said: “I’ve been such a fan of Alan Braxe and the universe of French house for years and to me it’s the ultimate party music. ‘Never Coming Back’ is basically about someone getting out of a toxic relationship. Tired of the past, looking for the future, and this time you’re finally on your own and ready for something new.”
‘The Upper Cuts’ (2023 Edition) will be available for the first time as an album on DSPs and will be available in black vinyl, limited edition coloured vinyl, and CD on 31st March. You can preorder it here.
