Steve Aoki announces new album featuring Akon, Paris Hilton, Timmy Trumpet, more
Building on his 2022 concept-driven album 'HiROQUEST'
Steve Aoki has announced his new album, 'HiROQUEST: Double Helix.'
Arriving on 17th November, the LP — Aoki's tenth studio album to date — features the likes of Akon, Paris Hilton, Timmy Trumpet and more and is described as an extension of the "genre-expanding" universe he introduced on 2022 album 'HiROQUEST'. The album was recorded primarily in Las Vegas and Miami.
“HiROQUEST is an entire world I crafted around an enigmatic character named HiRO. Part I was largely driven by my alt-music roots in hardcore punk bands. Now, the story continues on Double Helix, which embraces dance culture while intertwining the pulse of contemporary Latin music," he explains in a press release.
Aoki worked with Akon to reinterpret the artist's 2003 hit 'Locked Up'. Check that out below.
Aoki recently appeared as a musical guest on Disney+'s The Muppets Mayhem series and curated a vinyl-only hardcore compilation with French artist Richard Orlinski.
Earlier this year, he collaborated with Dungeons & Dragons for a limited-edition capsule collection.
