Amsterdam Dance Event kicks off next week, turning the city into an electronic music playground for five days. We've scoured the programme for the best parties, festivals and more, so you don't have to
Amsterdam Dance Event— or ADE 2019— kicks off imminently, and offers more panels, parties and raves than anyone has a hope of attending. Still, there’s no harm in trying.
If the full programme feels overwhelming panic not; we’ve scoured this year’s listings to select the finest soirées, gatherings and festivals the marathon has to offer. There’s Tim Hecker’s performance of his ‘Konoyo’ album. EDM big guns line up at the 15 Years of Tomorrowland showcase. Techno crew Ilian Tape take over Paradiso. And UK house team Audiowhore make their debut at the world’s biggest celebration of dance music.
All of which is before we come to mention institutions such as De School’s three-day throwdown, Het Weekend, Radion’s Breakfast Club and, of course, DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs reveal during the epic AMF Festival. Then there’s also our more intimate gathering at Claire, with Floating Points. By now you probably get the idea. One of Amsterdam’s finest electronic destinations joins one of the UK’s most revered house labels for one night of underground sounds beneath the streets north of the city’s waterfront.
