Traktor update adds advanced CDJ functionality
The new version also adds better iTunes integration…
NI Traktor has added some new advanced CDJ features in a new update that's currently in beta. Most of what's new in version 2.11.3 – now available for download – is based around using Traktor in HID mode with CDJs, including full colour waveforms, beatjump buttons for instantly jumping forward or backwards in your track, displaying the phase meter, coloured stripes mimicing Traktor's overview stripes and support for the new Pioneer DJ CDJ-TOUR-1.
There's also improved iTunes integration in the form of 'Sync Song Info', which imports your artist, title, rating and album info from iTunes into Traktor.
Other improvements include fixed crashes and tweaks under the hood. It's a statement update from NI, who've been quiet on the Traktor front over the past year.
With rekordbox and USB becoming so ubiquitous and offering so much of what brought a lot of users to Traktor in the first place, it's no surprise that NI are seeking closer integration rather than seperation. Time will tell what the next major Traktor update will hold, but we're excited to see how NI view the future of the popular DJ software.
