Peggy Gou shares new single, ‘(It Goes Like) NANANA’, on XL: Listen
The first flavour of the long-awaited debut album
Peggy Gou has shared a new single, marking her first new music in almost two years and her debut release on XL Recordings. You can hear ‘(It Goes Like) NANANA’ below.
Fans in attendance at the last ever Printworks event in London were given an early taste of the track during the DJ's headline set. Taking inspiration from dance sounds of the 1990s and early-2000s, it's the first sample to drop from her long-awaited debut album.
“There's a feeling we all know but is hard to describe, that feeling of love, warmth and excitement when you're surrounded by friends and loved ones and the energy speaks for itself," Gou said of the tune. "It's difficult to put into words but to me it goes ‘nanana!’”
The coming months will see Gou play a host of festival and club dates across Europe before heading to North America, including her own Pleasure Garden event on 6th August in Finsbury Park, London, reflecting her love for the UK capital, which "has always been a special place for me.... It's the city where I discovered my love of music and a place that has always shown me so much support." Between then and now she also hits Sonar Bar Night in Barcelona, Turin's Kappa Futur, and Dour in Belgium. All dates through to September are listed below.
Last month, the first volume of 'Gudu & Friends', a compilation series from Gou's Gudu Records, was announced.
