Pendulum release documentary, The New Era: Watch
Chronicling the group's rise to fame, hiatus, Ultra reunion show and contemporary releases
A new documentary about Australian drum & bass group Pendulum has been released. You can watch the film below.
'Pendulum: The New Era' examines the band's origins post-millennium, and subsequent rise to stadium headlining status during the 2000s. It then looks at the reasons behind their hiatus from 2012 onwards.
Moving the timeline along, the outfit's triumphant reunion show at Ultra Miami in 2016 also features. A significant milestone, this marked the gradual start of a renewed period of activity, with remix LP 'The Reworks' arriving in 2018. Subsequent outings have included the singles 'Driver' and 'Nothing For Free' in 2020, and the 'Elemental' EP 12 months later.
The formation of electronic duo Knife Party, AKA Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, also gets some attention in the video, which has dropped less than a week after 'Halo', a collaborative track with Bullet For Me Valentine. Alongside one-off London show back in March, hopes have been raised among fans for more work to follow in the future, although 'The New Era' leaves us guessing as to what that might look and sound like.
