Premiere: Treasure Bloom ‘Water Lily (Lu.Re Remix)’
Treasure Bloom invites No Nation, Hidden Sphere, and Lu.Re to remix his dizzying ‘But Does It Make Sense’ EP
Treasure Bloom will released a new remix package for his ‘But Does It Make Sense’ EP on 3rd August via Future Bounce. Listen to ‘Water Lily (Lu.Re Remix)’ below.
The London-born, Hertfordshire-raised DJ and producer, fka TREASURE, celebrates a year of his sophomore EP with a suite of reworks from No Nation, Hidden Sphere, and Lu.Re. Originally released via the same label in July 2022, the project followed his previous releases on Kommerz Records, Only Losers Win Happily, and Nice Guys. Now, with the help of a variety of rising UK-based DJs and producers, he’s evolving the tracks on ‘But Does It Make Sense’ into new, dancefloor-focused shapes.
‘Water Lily’ is entrusted to Bethnal Green-based DJ Lu.re, who gives the cut an ominous garage makeover with supple 2-stepping drums, thudding bass weight, and murky textures that spiral around Treasure's diced-up vocal. The remix follows the Zed Bias-mentored artist's ‘Charge EP’ with Roska and Motu, which dropped in April, and her 2022 two-tracker, ‘Certain Way/Bound’, which earned her support from the likes of Bklava, Shosh and Yung Singh.
Elsewhere on the EP, London DJ and producer, No Nation serves up a junglist revamp of ‘Test My Patience’, while Hidden Spheres fixes Treasure’s somber vocal tones from ‘I’ll Always Love You’ to a suitably hair-raising dub-breaks backbone. Stellar stuff.
