A former warehouse for boats located in the Cologne-Deutz shipyard is now one of the most popular spots for electronic music in Germany. Bootshaus consists of a large outdoor area and three inside rooms: the cavernous Main Room, the Blackbox and the intimate, industrial-style Dreherei room. The Main Room and Dreherei are powered by Funktion-One, while the Blackbox has a SEEBURG soundsystem, and with its spinning turbines in the ceiling, is an especially unique room in the club.
In the last 12 months, the vast outdoor area has had a complete renovation, and bookings-wise the club has invited Sven Väth, Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca, Reinier Zonneveld, Boys Noize, and many more to perform. Resident DJs Brandon, Dave Replay, Emin, Isis Cloudt, Kevin Arnold, and Oliver Magenta are on support duties most weekends. That's all alongside their own in-house nights, Blacklist, Nibirii and Loonyland, the club works with a range of external promoters: industrial techno brand Unreal, hardstyle crew Musical Madness and gabber-meets-hardcore event Inurfase. Having built a strong community over the past 19 years, Bootshaus continues to evolve, and an additional fourth floor for a new chillout area is in the works.
