Denon DJ releases first-ever DJ controller using stem separation technology
The update on the four-channel Prime 4 also runs on Denon's Engine DJ software
Denon DJ has released its first-ever standalone DJ controller using real-time stem separation technology.
The Prime 4+ runs on Denon DJ's Engine DJ software and features built-in WiFi and an ethernet link port. The four-deck controller is compatible with Amazon Music, TIDAL, Beatsource, Beatport, Soundcloud Go+ and Dropbox. Other key features include a 10% larger jog wheel surface.
The Prime 4+ is an update of the four-channel Prime 4 (released in 2019) — which enables the use of four decks using two platters — and costs $2199 / £2299 / €2599. Find out more from Denon DJ here.
Earlier this year, VirtualDJ released the latest version of its flagship software with an upgrade of its stem separation engine that promises “studio-like quality”.
Back in 2021, Denon DJ updated their Engine DJ software to version 2.0, adding Ableton Link to their range of DJ hardware, which at the time was also a first for standalone DJ hardware.
