Debuting in the Top 100 Clubs poll in 2020, E1 — named for its East London postcode — opened in its current incarnation in 2018, quickly developing a reputation among in-the-know music heads in the UK capital. The last 12 months have seen upgrades to the production, with the installation of a new floor-to-ceiling screen, lighting designed by the brain behind Ultra’s global techno powerhouse, Resistance, and additional custom visuals by Rebel Overlay. Add in the existing 151 lighting fixtures and punters are in for a visual experience nothing short of eye-boggling. On the audio front, sound is provided by Funktion-One throughout E1’s three rooms, and the venue regularly partners with renowned local dance music brands like NTS, Percolate, Alchemy and Free From Sleep, alongside hosting its flagship E1 Presents parties. Recently, that’s meant ravers have enjoyed sets from Carl Cox, Helena Hauff, dBridge, Jeff Mills, Nastia, Robert Hood, Sasha, Dax J, the late, great Jah Shaka, and many, many more.
