First-ever authorised Tupac Shakur biography to be released next month
The biography is written by 2Pac's childhood friend, Staci Robinson
The first and only estate-authorised biography of Tupac Shakur is set to be released next month.
‘Tupac Shakur: The Authorised Biography’ will explore the unknown details of the influential hip-hop artist’s life, as well as the impact he had on the music industry.
The biography is written by author and screenwriter Staci Robinson, a childhood friend of Tupac Shakur, and was personally endorsed by 2Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur.
The book will also include previously unreleased photos, mementoes, handwritten poetry, his family’s personal archives, and more.
Tupac Shakur was tragically killed aged 25 in a drive-by shooting on 7th September 1996. The long-running investigation into the unsolved murder continued earlier this year, following a search carried out at a house in Las Vagas.
In his short life, 2Pac sold over 75 million records worldwide, had five number-one albums on the Billboard Charts, and has the second and fourth highest selling hip-hop albums of all time.
In July, a ring that was designed and once worn by 2Pac sold for $1 million. The item was part of a collection of hip-hop memorabilia auctioned off to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the music genre.
‘Tupac Shakur: The Authorised Biography’ is set to be released 26th October 2023, via Century. You can pre-order a copy here.
