Jumping Back Slash and BŪJIN announce collaborative album on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce
The first track, 'Order of Change', is out now
Jumping Back Slash and BŪJIN have announced a new joint album, which will arrive on 10th November via Jamz Supernova's Future Bounce label.
The first single, 'Order Of Change', has already dropped, and you can watch the video for it below. The track combines psychedelic vocals with lyrical stabs and earth-rattling bass, reflecting the overall vibe of the LP, which encompasses elements of avant-garde, pop, minimal electronica, and leftfield club sounds.
The pair have previously worked together on projects including 'TECHNA RESPECTADEMICA', which saw BŪJIN — a Kenyan-South African artist working across instrumentation, composition, performance, production and songwriting — enlist South Africa-based, UK-raised Jumping Back Slash for mastering. Meanwhile, the latter's credits also include work alongside Spoek Mathambo, Fantasma, and Loui Lvndn, in addition to co-running the Swak Catalog label with DJ Aryu Jessika.
"I wanted it to feel like an enchanted thread on a spindle wheel that pokes you in your ear and immediately you slip into an icy hole,” said BŪJIN of the album. “Where you’re totally surrounded by nothing but the sounds of cracking icebergs breaking off one-by-one. We both have a great deal of boundless mythical, playful expression in where we go musically, but also such a fine-tuned understanding of the boundaries and the limits of our abilities, and where to push those limits.”
