Opening in 2019 — just before the global pandemic hit — LOD is a relative newcomer, yet has quickly made a big impact on the South Asian scene. Previously a car park, LOD was built to “create an international-level nightclub”, boosting Nepal’s profile and making it a “hub for people from different countries to come to party”.
An arena-style layout puts the DJ in main focus, while a d&b audiotechnik sound system and three moving hydraulic lighting rigs create an impressive experience to immerse every guest, even at such a large scale.
When DJ Mag spoke to CEO Rabin last year, he said he had exciting festival plans for 2023, and this March saw LOD take part in Asia’s biggest music festival, Sunburn, hosting Lost Stories and showcasing its residents, Hamza, Anish and Ravewolf. Other standout acts that have performed this year include Yo Yo Honey Singh and Bonka.
