Cameron Crowhurst, who was reported missing earlier this month following Boomtown Fair, has been found safe and well.

The 31-year-old from Birmingham vanished after attending the electronic music festival in Hampshire’s South Downs. He was known to have left the festival a day early on the Saturday (12th) after losing his mobile phone, and was last seen at Basingstoke railway station boarding a train to Bournemouth at around 7pm on 13th August.

His disappearance prompted appeals from his family, who placed posters around Winchester city centre in the hope someone may recognise him.

Birmingham Police have now confirmed that Crowhurst has been found, almost two weeks after his disappearance. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the force shared: “We have some wonderful news to bring you. Missing Cameron has been found safe and well. We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal. We really do appreciate it.”

A relative also confirmed Crowhurst's safe return, reports ITV. Posting on social media, they shared: “Cameron has been found safe. Thank you everyone who has helped in the search for Cameron.”

“I had a random Facebook message request from someone saying call me I'm with Cam. I didn't believe it until I heard his voice. But he is safe and well. He has been through a massive ordeal, and we are just so happy that he is safe.”

The 2023 edition of the Boomtown Fair music festival took place at Matterley Bowl near Winchester between 9th and 13th August. With a reported 66,000 capacity, the site welcomed headliners including The Prodigy, Sister Sledge, Nia Archives, Cypress Hill, Interplanetary Criminal and Mungo’s Hi Fi.
