Rex Club has been synonymous with France’s electronic music scene for more than two decades. Though it started out in the 1930s as an art deco cinema that housed an intimate underground space, Le Rêve, the historic building morphed into today’s electronic haven in the ‘80s, after its new creative team took a punt on an acid and jungle night. Its relationship with Laurent Garnier was also formed during this time, and since then its journey to becoming an “iconic place when you want to listen to techno in Paris” has been steady and strong. Expect residencies from Acid Arab and John Talabot, and special events such as an Ed Banger showcase this year. New event, Mezigue, has also seen the club invite local and international artists to curate weekend-long events. In 2023, Rex Club extended its legacy by releasing a book of flyers and photographs taken at the club, in collaboration with Carhartt Wip.
