DJ style: Big room house.
Best known for: Smashing it, stopping, then smashing it again.
In 2012, the stadium-smashing supergroup trio of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, better known as Swedish House Mafia, announced to the dismay of their fans that they were splitting up. It would be several years until they would appear on stage together again, playing the closing set at Ultra Miami in 2018. Their return to the touring treadmill was obviously hindered by Covid, but this year they’ve fully got back on the festival trail with multiple appearances all over the States and Europe.
The tour is to promote the release of their epic, 17-track full-length album ‘Paradise Again’, which features appearances from artists including Ty Dolla $ign & 070 Shake, Swedish-Gambian singer-songwriter Seinabo Sey and UK vocalist Connie Constance. The album also contains Swedish House Mafia's collab with The Weeknd ‘Moth To A Flame’, which is currently approaching 400 million streams on Spotify.
SHM also found a moment this year to partner with IKEA, launching their limited OBEGRÄNSAD range of DJ-related items including a record player, speaker stands and a remake of the classic KALLAX vinyl shelves.
