A permanent fixture in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs, Warung Beach Club remains an essential clubbing destination in Brazil’s effervescent nightlife scene. Launched in 2002, the beachside location and open-air dancefloor make for a unique experience, with picturesque views of the forests known as the Mata Atlântica. Equipped with two dancefloors, the club is eco-friendly and made out of local organic material, while the architecture is themed around traditional Indonesian temples and sure to enhance the clubbing experience.
Over the years, the venue has invited DJs from across the world — including Laurent Garnier, Honey Dijon, Josh Wink, Charlotte de Witte, Peggy Gou, and Sasha — to play The Temple, which stays open until sunrise. In February, videos circulated of a fire at the venue, though thankfully nobody was hurt and an official statement reported “only material damage to the structure”. The Warung Day Festival in May this year hosted an all-star line-up, including Bonobo, dOP, ANNA, CamelPhat, Adriatique and Chloé Caillet. Last year, Warung celebrated two decades of outdoor dancing in its picturesque venue — here’s to many more.
