47 unreleased Prince songs to feature on 'Diamonds And Pearls' deluxe reissue
The expanded reissue also takes in two hours of concert footage
Prince's 1991 album with his band The New Power Generation, 'Diamonds And Pearls', is set for an expansive reissue that will newly include 47 previously unreleased songs.
The Prince Estate has dug extensively through the archives to piece the reissue together, with the unreleased material set to be included alongside the full remastered original album, as well as remixes and B-sides from the era of the album's original release.
The reissue comes with a 120-page book of photos and essays, as well as a Chuck D foreword. The set also includes a Dolby Atmos mix of the album on Blu-ray, and two hours of concert footage (both audio and video) shot at Prince's Minneapolis club, Glam Slam, in 1992. It will be available as a 7xCD or 12xLP set on 27th October.
A numbered 7" singles box set has also been released and is strictly limited to 1,991 units. Containing remastered audio for six official singles released across 1991 and 1992, the set also contains a brand new 7" single comprising two previously unreleased tracks, 'Alice Through The Looking Glass' and 'Horny Pony (Version 2)'. The set is available to order now, exclusively via the official Prince Store.
To mark the reissue's announcement, The Prince Estate has shared the tracks 'Alice Through The Looking Glass' and 'Insatiable (Early Mix – Full Version)' from the release. You can listen to both tracks below.
In July, The Prince Estate shared two further unreleased tracks from Prince, originally released in 1992 and 2006, through streaming services.
