London club FOLD launches third season of multi-disciplinary arts programme, Futur.Shock
Beginning next month, the new season of the live experimental series examines the "collective melancholy in relation to the anxiety, stress and over-stimulation of our contemporary society"
The next season of London venue FOLD's experimental live arts series Futur.Shock will commence next month.
Each edition of the Canning Town club's series centres on a theme, with the third season under the heading of on 'Another Day of Gravity', pointing to the "collective melancholy in relation to the anxiety, stress and over-stimulation of our contemporary society", with "nihilistic and existential undertones" and "a sense of hope".
The first chapter, 'Mad Matter' begins on 28th September with multidisciplinary artist Leask performing a piece called 'Paroxysm' about health issues and involuntary physical movements caused by them. Composer and producer Malthus will close out the opening show. The rest of the first chapter will feature Josh Woolford, Mellowdramatics, Oscar King & Lesya Tyminska, and SWARMM & Futur.Shock founder Karolina Magnusson Murray, who curated the Chapter One programme.
The remaining two chapters of the season are titled 'Different Ways to Fuck, or Be Fucked' and 'Touch Me Free'. The former is curated by Erkan Affan and Eric Shen, and the latter is a collaboration with London Short Film Festival, programmed by Maya Sfakianaki. Line-ups will be confirmed at a later date.
