Oneohtrix Point Never shares new single, 'A Barely Lit Path', and video: Watch
It's the first track to be unveiled from forthcoming album 'Again'
Oneohtrix Point Never has released the first full piece of music from his forthcoming album, 'Again', in the form of a track called 'A Barely Lit Path'.
The new cut closes the album, and features orchestral contributions from the NOMAD Ensemble, conducted and arranged by Robert Ames. The video, which you can watch below, "presents the harrowing tale of a pair of anthropomorphised crash test dummies", a press release said.
Originally announced last week, and set for release via Warp Records on 29th September, 'Again' is billed as a reflection on Oneohtrix Point Never's own musical identity during formative adult years. It's his first full-length offering since 2020's 'Magic Oneohtrix Point Never'.
In the interim period since that record's release, the artist, real name Daniel Lopatin, has been involved in a number of other projects, including taking on a role as Musical Director for The Weeknd's 2021 Super Bowl Half Time concert, after executive-producing and guest-appearing on his album 'Dawn FM'.
Tour dates, which will see the artist present a new live show with backing from visual artist Freeka Tet, are expected to be announced in the coming months for 2024.
