Lila Tirando a Violeta & Sin Maldita announce Hyperdub album, ‘Accela’, share single: Listen
The Uruguayan producer and Berlin-based artist will make their joint Hyperdub debut in October
Lila Tirando a Violeta & Sin Maldita have shared details of a new collaborative album on Hyperdub, ‘Accela’. Listen to the lead single below.
Arriving 13th October, the seven-track EP follows critically acclaimed solo projects from both artists – including Tirando a Violeta's 'Desire Path' from 2022 – while marking their joint Hyperdub debut.
Described as being “informed and inspired by seemingly unconnected work”, the EP draws on the conceptual sound design of 90’s cyberpunk anime Lain – which is sampled in the title track – as well as the dream-like themes of James Joyce’s experimental novel, Finnegan’s Wake.
The project centres around the duo’s interpretation of the idea of Idioglossia, a private language developed and spoken by a small group of people, and features the warped voices of Lila and Sin chattering away throughout the release. ‘Accela’ also incorporates avant-pop with surreal and mind-bending sounds.
The release follows Lila Tirando a Violeta’s signing to Hyperdub in April. “It’s been a decade of falling down and standing up again both regarding to my health condition and my music therefore to finally see this long time dream being accomplished makes me very proud and grateful with everyone who stood by my side,” she wrote on Instagram.
Hyperdub is set to release ‘Accela’ on 13th October. Listen to the title track below.
