Technics announces white version of the SL-1500C turntable

Technics is giving its key SL-1500C model a fresh look with a new matte white finish.

The new version of the popular model will be available to buy from May. The minimalist SL-1500C-W premium turntable will have the same features as the rest of the SL-1500C range, including a direct-drive motor, pre-mounted cartridge, integrated phono EQ and automatic tonearm lift. It'll also match pricetag of other available colours, silver and black, at £1099. 

“From our experience with limited edition models, we have seen a high demand for additional colour versions of our designs, especially for turntables", Technics product manager Frank Balzuweit said in a press statement. "Many clients look for stylish colour alternatives, reflecting the minimalistic design language of modern contemporary interiors. The new clean white tone underlines the SL-1500C’s pure and simplistic aesthetic, employing only the most necessary operational elements needed on a turntable."

Last year, Technics relaunched the classic DJ model SL-1200 with a special 50th anniversary edition featuring a gold tonearm and a variety of colours.

In 2021, Technics introduced the "entry level" SL-100C turntable, intended to be a lower-priced version of the SL-1500C.
